Preparing for Your First Physiotherapy Visit in NE Calgary

Booked your first appointment at Omega Physiotherapy? Here's exactly what to bring, what to wear, and what to expect from your initial assessment.

Walking into a physiotherapy clinic for the first time can feel uncertain — especially if you've never had hands-on rehab before. At Omega Physiotherapy & Rehab in NE Calgary, we keep the first visit focused on listening, assessing, and giving you a clear plan you can act on immediately.

Bring comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated (shorts for a knee, tank top for a shoulder), any imaging reports or referrals, a list of current medications, and your insurance details if you'd like us to direct-bill.

The first 45-60 minutes is your therapist's chance to understand the full picture: how the issue started, what makes it worse and better, your goals, and a movement-based examination. From that we build a working diagnosis and a realistic treatment plan.

You'll usually leave the first visit with hands-on treatment, a small set of starting exercises, and a clear sense of how many visits we think you'll need. Questions are always welcome — ours is a no-pressure, no-jargon clinic.
